Austin's lessons were completed in record time. He scored 100% on each of his assignments and on his spelling test. He completed more handwriting than I had ever seen him do in one setting. We performed a science experiment. (We love those.) We joked. We laughed. We both learned. We were done by 11:30 a.m.!
Since we were on such a roll, I put off my household chores and took the kids to the bookstore. We picked up a sweet book and a jigsaw puzzle. Faith, Austin, and I spent the next two hours reading books, working on puzzles, and playing games. Afterwords, the kids and I turned up the music really LOUD, sang, danced, and tackled the task of cleaning the kitchen and preparing dinner.
I'm tired and I'm ready to be done playing "Mom" for the evening, but I'm happy and am thankful for this day with my children. As my dear friend has repeatedly reminded me..."It's the good days that carry you through the bad days"...we were ALL long over due for a "GOOD DAY."
"The Pokey Little Puppy" an old friend that I was happy to bring home today.
